Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

This policy explains what Savorient ("we", "us") collects when you visit www.savorient.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It describes what this site actually does, rather than listing every practice a website might have.

Who we are

Savorient is a recipe website. The site owner is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at any time through our contact page.

Information we collect

Messages you send us. When you use our contact form, the name, email address and message you enter are sent to us by email so that we can reply. The website itself does not keep a copy. To stop the form from being abused, the server keeps a short-lived count of how many messages were sent from your connection in the past hour. That count is identified only by a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, sits in the server's temporary storage, and is used for nothing else.

Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard request data when a page is loaded: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, and the date and time. It is used to keep the site secure and working and to understand overall traffic.

Information stored on your own device. Some features save data in your browser's local storage rather than on our servers: your cookie choice and the recipes you save as favorites. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is not visible to other visitors. Clearing your browser's site data erases it.

Why we use it

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, data protection law asks us to name the legal basis for each use:

Cookies and similar technologies

We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences. Where advertising is enabled, our advertising partners set cookies of their own. A full breakdown of each item and what it is for is in our Cookie Policy.

Advertising

This site is designed to be supported by advertising delivered through Google AdSense.

Managing your cookie choices

You decide whether advertising cookies can be used, and you can change your mind at any time:

Third-party services we load

Some parts of this site are delivered by other companies, and your browser contacts them directly when a page loads. They therefore receive your IP address and basic request data:

International transfers

Google and Cloudflare are based in the United States, so information your browser sends them may be processed outside your country. Both rely on recognized legal safeguards for international transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Links to other websites

Our TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest profiles are linked from every page. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent — for advertising cookies — you may withdraw it at any time using the Manage cookie preferences button above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. You can opt out of sharing for advertising by declining cookies in our banner, or automatically by using a browser that sends Global Privacy Control. Exercising these rights will never result in discriminatory treatment.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page. Favorites are stored in your own browser, so you can remove them yourself at any time by clearing your site data.

Data retention

Messages sent through the contact form are kept in our inbox only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted. The anti-abuse message count lives only in the server's temporary storage. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider on its standard schedule. Data in your browser's local storage stays until you clear it.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, and we take reasonable measures to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
